Obama and McCain meet
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/11/17/transition.wrap/index.html
obama and mccain talked today about how they could cooperate to do the best for america
obama has talked to a lot of his rivals in his search for cabinet members
is obama actually being bipartisan, does he just want the perspective, or is meeting with mccain just a symbolic show? and what does that mean for how obama will be in the white house
sometimes i find it hard to believe that obama is as geniune as he seems

Sunshine has his eyes on the prize
Historically he is very partizan. I think he will be more bipartizan in the past but he doesn't really want to. It is just necesary because I think from his mind, not all are smart enough to agree with him.

If he's as smart as I think he is, it's not because he thinks that anyone smart enough agrees with him. Intelligent people should realize that other intelligent people can hold differing opinions based on their belief systems. But as president, I certainly wouldn't want to have to deal with unintelligent opinions.
I think this is a little more than a token gesture. I think Obama genuinely wants the perspective that a varied cabinet will bring. He's said in the news, he's reading a lot about Lincoln and FDR these days, and both of them did the same thing he's doing.

Obama won't stop being liberal just because he has different perspectives around him, so maybe it amounts to a show even if it wasn't intended that way.

ya thats what i think, he may be genuine but it doesn't matter he'll still make his own decisions and i think that's a good thing
