Two weeks to election day--time to start placing bets. How many electoral votes will each candidate get? As an incentive, I'll give BabelPoints to anyone who gets it exactly right. The number of BabelPoints given will be equivalent to the percent of the popular vote that the winner receives. This is a chance for those of you who've been eyeing those top 5 spots to jump ahead!
If you don't know, check out CNN's electoral map. It lets you choose which states you think will go D/R, offers suggestions, and automatically tallies the totals.
297-241
Final.
That is to say, 297-241 with Obama winning.
My bet is 291-247. (In favor of Obama.)
I love how people forget to write Obama or put it in parentheses because it is so obvious... My prediction: Obama- 324, McCain- 214
I'll get around to making my prediction, but in government today we talked about the Bradley effect. Basically, it says that people are afraid to vote for a black candidate. I'm sure wikipedia can give you a better explination if you are interested.
Yeah, I saw that a week ago on CNN... http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/13/obama.bradley.effect/index.html?i...
But don't forget that Bradley was in 1982. I hope a lot of progress has been made since then.

Last week the NY Times wrote an extensive article about the Bradley Effect.

Check it out!
Obama - 289
McCain- 249
Part of me almost hopes Obama wins for a couple reasons. I don't think he can mess up that much stuff in four years, or he could possibly do some good. Secondly, with a possible or close to a super majority, the die hard democrats will have NO one to blame everything on. It makes me sick how they demonize bush, I don't think I would ever do that to Obama, or any democrat. I don't like Bush as a president but obessive hating the president gets us no where. Lastly, if Obama does poorly, it will pave the way for a young and articulate republican to run.
It makes me sick how they demonize bush.
Do you think it's unjustified?
Yes I think people portray Bush as literally evil. I think it is realistic to say he is misguided and made poor choices. But he isn't evil, he isn't looking to harm America.
271-267.
That's what will happen if every state goes the way CNN predicts it will, plus McCain wins the 6 toss-up states. I don't think that will happen, really, but I'm going to keep my expectations low.
EDIT: Oh yeah--this is for Obama winning.
Obama - 291
McCain - 247
And I officially hate how my state ALWAYS votes Republican.
318-220 Obama
i like pizza
obama rules  C: :tongue2:
 McCain is going down! obama is a better president. I think he will win
So I was closest :D Do I get anything?
So I was closest :D Do I get anything?
Considering that the final tally will be 364-174 and you guessed 324-214...
I promised an amount of BabelPoints equivalent to the percent of the popular vote the winner received; Barack Obama received 53% of the popular vote, but no one got the electoral vote tally exactly right.
Here's what I'll do. You were 40 electoral votes off, so I'll take away 40 points from the 53: you can have 13 BabelPoints.
Yay! Better than nothing

According to CNN, giving every undecided state to McCain still gives Obama a victory. I hope CNN is right.
Anyway, I give Florida and NC to McCain, and Nevada, CO, OH, and MO to Obama. Which made it 322-216. And I don't think that would happen.
So I then gave CO and OH to McCain. Which made it 293-245. Final Answer. (for now)
Then CNN told me Obama will miss campaign events to visit his sick grandmother.
