Since BabelUp is obviously just starting out, we could use a few more smileys that are on the creative side. There are currently 80 smileys, but I would like a few that are more expressive. As such, I'm launching the first contest of BabelUp: make us some smileys! 
All you have to do to enter the contest is reply to this thread with your submission or send me a personal message if you want to submit anonymously. The smiley or smileys must either be given in a link, attached to your post, or embedded in your post. You can submit as many smileys as you want, but no more than three smileys per topic. If you submit multiple smileys, please don't put them in an archive--just upload or link the files individually. Smileys must be in .gif, .png, or .jpg format; obviously animated GIF images are accepted. Standard smileys with only a face are 15x15px and the largest acceptable dimensions are 128x48 (currently, the two largest smileys are 60x30 and 96x15). Resolution may be no smaller than 72dpi and no larger than 240dpi. The contest will close as soon as I'm happy with the smileys we have.

There is also a category for "most creative" if you just want to impress. There might be a tangible reward for that one... 
I'll consider giving rewards in BabelPoints for the other categories.
Smileys must be "appropriate" and must be original creations. You can submit smileys which you have created before this contest, even if they're used in other places, but you can't submit other peoples' smileys. You may modify BabelUp's existing smileys to create new smileys if you wish, but I'm not giving you any source files.

LOL! Why? Monitors don't have dots, you know. What the dpi is set to doesn't make any difference unless you're printing.
