Attacks in Mumbai

Yesterday in Mumbai, India, there were a series of attacks by militant Islamic extremists on tourist locations, targeting mainly Americans, Britons, and Jews.  At least 119 people have been killed and nearly 300 injured; more are missing or taken hostage.  The attacks were extraordinarily well-executed and the Indian military is still trying to take back some locations where the extremists have camped with their hostages.

The attacks were not apparently by Al-Qaeda, but they were probably Al-Quaeda inspired. India has seen bouts of sectarian violence in Mumbai over the past 3 years.
